PGA AWARDS 2015: NOMINEES INCLUDE “BOYHOOD,” “GONE GIRL”, “LEGO”

anuary 5, 2015, 1:34 PM

The Producers Guild of America announced the nominees for its PGA Awards on Monday, and “Boyhood,” “Birdman” and “The Imitation Game” are among the contenders.

Other nominees for the PGA honor include Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper,” the Stephen Hawking biopic “The Theory of Everything,” David Fincher’s thriller “Gone Girl,” the wresting drama “Foxcatcher,” Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and the indie dramas “Nightcrawler” and “Whiplash.”

Notable names missing from that list include potential Oscar contenders “Selma,” “Unbroken” and “Into the Woods” (though, HitFix notes, screeners for “Selma” and another snubbed film, “Intersteller,” were not readily made available to the Guild).

The PGA nominations give further indication of which films have the best chance at scoring Oscar nods — and the Guild’s choice for best picture has gone on to win the top prize at the Oscars the past seven years running.

The 26th annual Producers Guild Awards will be held on Jan. 24 in Los Angeles. Check out the full list of nominees, including those in documentary, TV and digital categories, below:
