Rideback is a promise.

We support and empower visionary storytellers who share our passion for entertaining audiences in delightfully surprising ways.

When you fall, somebody will be there to pick you up. When you’ve gone as far as you think you can go, somebody will be there to show you a different path. And when you’ve succeeded, there will always be somebody for you to circle back and bring along.

Everybody in. Everybody forward. Everybody up.

Rideback is an invitation.

We bring people and ideas together to elevate the potential of both. We open doors people may never have seen, to stories they didn’t know they could tell, to places they never thought possible.

Rideback is a platform for new voices.

Our goal is to develop emerging talent, create opportunities for a more diverse mix of voices, and inspire change. Programs have included the inclusion-focused writer residency Rideback TV Incubator, formed in partnership with leading film and TV studio MRC, which provided a curated group of talented writers from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to create their own shows for cable and streaming in a collaborative, mentor-based environment. Rideback also partnered with production shingle Thinking Hat to form the Rideback Thinking Hat Campfire, which gave underrepresented voices the opportunity to develop shows for broadcast. In 2022, Rideback CEO Dan Lin announced the launch of Rideback Rise, a 501c3 non-profit BIPOC content accelerator, independently funded and separate from Rideback, to support experienced creators in making mainstream film and television in order to advance racial equity. Rise is supported by prominent organizations including the Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, and Doris Duke Foundation, among others.

Rideback is a space for exploration.

Our new home is Rideback Ranch, a creative campus in Historic Filipinotown that brings together diverse storytellers in a unique setting to inspire collaboration and innovation. Designed to pioneer new ways of working, the space gives writers, directors and other creatives an opportunity to learn from each other, push boundaries and explore new ideas.

Rideback is part of the neighborhood.

We‘re an active member of the community we now call home. We reach out and give back, offering our time, talents, and energy in support of local organizations that share our commitment to lifting people up. Our goal is to build relationships and develop partnerships that bring everyone in the community forward. Our current partnerships include a Young Storytellers program at Union Elementary, the largest elementary school for first-time immigrants to Los Angeles, and regular events with the Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children. In 2018, Rideback worked closely with then-Mayor Eric Garcetti and filmmaker Ava DuVernay to launch the Evolve Entertainment Fund (EEF), which sought to bring more people from underserved communities into our industry.
