Lin Pictures Taps TriStar Exec as Head of TV

SEPTEMBER 22, 2017 11:00am PT by Lesley Goldberg

Lin Pictures is solidifying its push into television. Lindsey Liberatore will oversee development for Dan Lin’s Warner Bros. Television-based company.

The company behind the It reboot has tapped former TriStar executive Lindsey Liberatore to serve as senior vp television and oversee development and all TV operations for the Warner Bros. Television-based production company. Courteney Tarantin has also joined Lin Pictures. She will serve as manager of television after working with Liberatore at TriStar and assisting with development and production.

“I am excited that Lindsey is bringing her strong creative instincts and her love of working with great storytellers to Lin Pictures,” founder and chief executive Dan Lin said. “She embodies the collaborative spirit of our company and is the perfect executive to lead our television business.”

The news comes a week after the company scored a sizable put-pilot commitment for Murder — a remake of the BBC miniseries of the same name — at CBS, with Lin and Liberatore attached to exec produce.

Lin Pictures also produces Fox’s Lethal Weapon, which is heading into its second season this fall.

Liberatore most recently was vp at Sony Pictures Television Studios’ TriStar unit, which she joined in 2015. During her tenure there, she oversaw Hulu’s Shut Eye and worked on Amazon’s Good Girls Revolt, The Last Tycoon and the pilot for The Interestings. She has spent time working for production companies for actor-producers including Krysten Ritter and Ryan Reynolds as well as at Film 44, where she produced HBO docuseries On Freddie Roach. She started her career at the Mark Gordon Co.

The news comes as Lin Pictures has found box office success with features including It, The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, Sherlock Holmes, Death note and more.
