CHRIS MCKAY TO DIRECT ‘LEGO MOVIE’ SEQUEL FOR WARNER BROS.

The first movie bowed in February and has since grossed more than $360 million worldwide.
Producers Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Roy Lee are steering the franchise, with Jill Wilfert from the Lego Company exec producing.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Michelle Morgan & Jared Stern are writing a treatment for the next installment .
Courtenay Valenti is overseeing for the studio/Warner Animation group.
McKay, who is repped by UTA and Mosaic, was animation co-director on the first “Lego Movie” and has also worked on TV programs like Cartoon Network’s “Robot Chicken” and “Titan Maximum” for Adult Swim. Deadline Hollywood first reported the news.
